The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was called to investigate a former Mora and Pecos Schools coach for criminal sexual penetration of a 14-year-old student enrolled at Mora High School.
New Mexico State Police Agents were able to determine that over the course of four months, between November 2016 and February 2018, Apoloino Leroy Blea, 21, of Mora had ongoing contact with a 14-year-old student. During the contact Blea forced the victim into sexual intercourse, sent her nude photos of himself, and on one occasion stabbed the victim with a steak knife.
Blea was arrested May 16 by New Mexico State Police, booked into the San Miguel County Jail and charged with:
Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Child (2nd Degree Felony);
Aggravated Battery: Use of a Deadly Weapon (3rd Degree Felony); and
Criminal Sexual Communication with a Child (4th Degree Felony).
