Former LANL Director Sig Hecker On North Korea Beyond ‘The Interview’ And Russia Beyond Crimea

Dr. Sig Hecker
Dr. Sig Hecker, the former Los Alamos National Laboratory Director and Co-Director of Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation, will speak on North Korea beyond “The Interview” and Russia beyond Crimea.
North Korea is building nuclear weapons at an ever accelerating pace. Russia is restoring its nuclear arsenal. Whereas U.S. – North Korean relations have never been good,  U.S. – Russia relations have moved from cooperation in the 1990s to confrontation.  Hecker will examine what the future may hold for both cases based on his visits to North Korea and Russia and analysis of recent events.
The talk is 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Mormon Church, 1967 18th St., in Los Alamos.
