ALBUQUERQUE — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will headline a rally to support Republican candidate Mark Ronchetti’s run for Governor.
The rally will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts and Exhibition Center 4012 National Parks Highway in Carlsbad.The doors open at 2 p.m. and the event begins at 4 p.m. Sunday.
“I’m honored to have Gov. DeSantis help us fire up our Ronchetti team in New Mexico,” Ronchetti said. “Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has failed New Mexico. Whether it’s crime, where we’re now the 2nd most violent state in the country, or on the economy, with high prices killing family budgets, New Mexicans are ready for change. Gov. DeSantis is a premier leader on the national stage, and I’m honored by his support and his interest in visiting our beautiful land of enchantment.”
Gov. DeSantis has spent his first three and a half years enacting policies focused on keeping Florida free. Because of his leadership, the Sunshine State has thrived. Gov. DeSantis has kept Florida open, protected Florida’s children from woke ideologies in the classroom, kept Florida’s communities safe, and secured record funding for Florida’s natural resources.
DeSantis is the 46th Governor of Florida. He’s a veteran who deployed to Iraq as an adviser to a U.S. Navy SEAL commander in support of the SEAL mission in Fallujah, Ramadi and the rest of Al Anbar province. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
DeSantis also served as a federal prosecutor, where he targeted and convicted child predators. He was elected to Congress in 2012 and advocated for congressional term limits and a balanced budget amendment. DeSantis is married to Casey DeSantis, an Emmy Award-winning television host. Together, they’re the proud parents of daughters Madison and Mamie and their son Mason.
New Mexico U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell (NM-02) also will join Ronchetti and DeSantis for the rally as a special guest.
