PURGATORY News:

DURANGO, Colo. — Purgatory Resort and the surrounding mountains received its first notable dusting of snow, creating excitement for the 2020/2021 winter ski season.

Snow in the high country was a welcome sight, with a scheduled opening date of Nov. 21 coming up on the horizon.

While the first snow is always welcome, signs of fall are more prominent than ever. Take a trip to the mountains and enjoy the stunning fall colors that the San Juan Mountains and Million Dollar Highway are known for.

Purgatory Resort is in one of the best areas to experience the changing of aspens, with endless trails and breathtaking mountain views surrounding the area. Fall accommodations are currently available, with rooms starting at $89.

Purgatory Resort is open for weekend activities through Oct. 4. Activities include the Inferno Mountain Coaster, mountain biking, alpine slide, scenic chairlift ride, treasure panning, paddle board and boat rentals and a kids off-road track. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
