Feria Flamenca: Celebrating 31 Years Of Festival Flamenco June 7

Thursday, June 7, I hope you will join me along with my fellow Ambassador’s Circle Founders and the Institute’s Board of Directors for Feria Flamenca, an Ambassador’s Circle Fundraising Event.

Join me in celebrating the legacy of flamenco in New Mexico and to help raise money to support the work of the National Institute of Flamenco.

This year, the Institute has been granted a wonderful fundraising matching opportunity by two generous donors up to $450,000 over five years. Proceeds from this event will be matched and will go directly to support the mission of the National Institute of Flamenco: to promote and preserve flamenco artistry in our communities.

For decades, Cayetana and I have been committed to preserving the cultural legacy of our Hispanic heritage in New Mexico. Our state has rich artistic traditions that have flourished for centuries because our families and communities have actively preserved these pieces of culture. The National Institute of Flamenco is a cornerstone within this landscape that was founded on family tradition and has grown to become one of the most unique cultural preservation institutions in the country.

This June, the National Institute of Flamenco will celebrate 31 years of Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque. Through this festival and the ongoing outreach and education, the Institute continues the legacy of our Hispanic heritage by actively preserving the art of flamenco on a daily basis.

This festival and the work of the Institute are essential to the proliferation of this art form, recognizing the importance of the arts and our unique community’s connection to Spain.

The National Institute of Flamenco is an organization I support and is near to my heart. Eva Encinias and the Institute have touched so many lives in our local, national, and international communities through the art of flamenco.

Please consider supporting our efforts at this year’s Feria Flamenca event. The Institute is a true gem in our community, and I look forward to celebrating 31 years of Festival Flamenco with you all.
