COMMUNITY News:
A group called The Female Brainpower Initiative (FBI) will begin meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.
“It seems there are issues and all kinds of challenges that need solutions or at least someone addressing the needs, involved ─ enough so that it’s becoming more and more difficult to retain a positive attitude while one-upmanship, poorly thought-out regulations, and apathy seem to stymie any progress. This has frustrated me and caused me to contemplate what I can do,” organizer JJ Maier said.
“My experience is that women are great ‘solutionists.’ However, many women have accepted long-held limitations, leaving their power to resolve personal, local, state, country and world issues to remain highly undeveloped. After reading Unleash the Power of the Female Brain by Dr. Daniel G. Amen, it seemed perhaps the time is now,” Maier said.
“The projects that have been successful long-term, seem to have started small and grown big. With that in mind, I seek to discover women willing to join me on a regular basis to develop beneficial actionable solutions for whatever issues we feel urgently need help. I’m unsure where this will lead, although it feels positive and I’m willing to contribute as much as I possibly can.”
