FBI, Albuquerque Police Seek Public’s Help to Solve December 2011 Bank Robberies

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are asking the public to take another look at five bank robberies that occurred almost five years ago.

Anyone with information about any of these robberies is asked to call the FBI at 505.889.1300 or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 505.843.STOP.

Tips also can be submitted online at https://tips.fbi.gov.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a bank robbery suspect.

December 2011 Bank Robberies:

Dec. 10, 2011

  • Where: BBVA Compass Bank, 1201 San Pedro Drive Northeast.
  • Suspect description: White male, approximately 5’10” tall, small build, brown eyes, light complexion, in his mid- to late-20s. He wore a black beanie hat, a black scarf that covered his neck, a black and white plaid jacket, black gloves, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

  • Where: Bank of Albuquerque, 4201 Wyoming Boulevard Northeast.
  • Suspect description: White male, approximately 5’10” tall, small to medium build, in his mid- to late-20s. He wore a black baseball cap, a black scarf that covered his neck, a light brown heavy jacket, blue jeans, black gloves, and black or gray skater-type tennis shoes. He was clean-shaven.

  • Where: Bank of Albuquerque, 4201 Wyoming Boulevard Northeast.
  • Suspect description: White Hispanic male, approximately 5’7” tall, weighed about 160 pounds with a small build, dark complexion, in his mid- to late-30s. He wore a gray and black beanie with an unknown design, a black, heavy jacket, blue jeans, and dark shoes. He had a mustache and chin hair, a deep voice, and an unknown tattoo on the left hand.

  • Where: U.S. Bank, 2300 Louisiana Boulevard Northeast.
  • Suspect descriptions: Suspect #1 is a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, and weighed about 185 to 210 pounds, with a stocky build. He wore a bulky black jacket, ski gloves, black sweatpants, and a black ski mask or bandana over his face. Suspect #2 is a possibly Hispanic male, approximately 5’8″ tall, weighing about 160 pounds. He had a thin build and a light complexion. The suspect wore a black jacket, blue jeans, and a black ski mask or bandana over his face.

  • Where: New Mexico Bank and Trust, 7021 Jefferson Street Northeast.
  • Suspect description: White male in his mid-30s, approximately 5’8” tall, with a small build. He wore a black knitted hat, a black jacket with yellow trim around the waist, cuff and collar areas, black jeans, and white tennis shoes with black shoe laces. He had a brown beard with no mustache.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense, and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
