Anyone who has worked at Bandelier National Monument, or who is or has been a volunteer, partner, member of the Friends of Bandelier, or has a close and personal connection to the Monument, is invited to a very special gathering.
As a part of the celebration of Bandelier’s Centennial year, the park is hosting a reunion Saturday, July 23. As Superintendent Jason Lott said, “A connection with Bandelier is a cherished part of many peoples’ lives, and we hope to include friends and co-workers past and present in this celebration during the park’s Centennial year.”
The celebration will be held in the area around the park Visitor Center, and reunion activities will include:
  • 3:30 p.m. Long House Hike with Craig Martin, President, Friends of Bandelier;
  • 4 p.m. Civilian Conservation Corps Historic District Tour;
  • 5 p.m. Speakers; and
  • 6 p.m. Catered dinner.

The speakers will include Mary Burchill, author of the book “Lady of the Canyon” about Bandelier icon Mrs. Frey, with opportunities for listeners to join in. Superintendent Jason Lott will talk about the park’s next 100 years.

Cost per person is $35, which also includes a commemorative replica of the “turkey plates” that Mrs. Frey used in her dining room at the Frijoles Canyon Lodge.
