FSN News:Family Strengths Network will start running a Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group next semester.
Los Alamos has seen an increase in the number of grandparents, who are solely raising their grandchildren, over the past handful of years. The group is designed to help these families navigate their unique challenges.
Lori Padilla will be facilitating the group, which will meet once monthly for a group dinner with their families that will be followed by a group discussion (childcare will be provided while adults meet). Padilla is a licensed therapist and grandparent raising a grandchild.
