Join Mesa Public Library’s Melissa Mackey and the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s astronomers this Wednesday, July 17 at the Los Alamos Nature Center for a space-themed Summer Family Evening.
Del Norte Credit Union is sponsoring this event and all of PEEC’s Summer Family Evenings in 2019! This event is free to attend and begins at 6:30 p.m.
Mackey will have crafts, books and activities that focus on space and gravity going on outside. Astronomer Galen Gisler will also have telescopes available for participants to look at the daylight moon and solar filters for looking at the sun. There will also be an open house in the planetarium with astronomer Rick Wallace. Participants can drop in to ask questions and learn about the moon, Jupiter and Saturn.
Summer Family Evenings take place at the Los Alamos Nature Center every Wednesday evening throughout June and July at 6:30 p.m. The events are normally free for PEEC family members and $5 per family for non-members, but Space Night is free for everyone!
