PEEC News:

Have you ever wondered what is involved in adding solar to your home? Join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) for a discussion about home solar energy use.

This event is 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 and free to attend. The talk will be presented in person at the Los Alamos Nature Center, but participants also may join virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required and seating is limited at the nature center. Learn more and sign up at peecnature.org/events.

Topics to be covered include progress towards the County’s carbon-neutral 2040 goal, pros and cons of home-based solar, permitting, net metering and reasons for possible changes in the rate structure.

There also will be plenty of time for questions. This talk will be given by Los Alamos County’s Power System Supervisor Jordan Garcia and Los Alamos County’s Electrical Engineering Manager Stephen Marez.
