PEEC News:
The community is invited to join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) for a Summer Family Evening at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 14 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
Learn about water-wise gardening and pollinators while exploring the gardens outside of the nature center. This event is free for all participants. PEEC thanks the Del Norte LOV Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Del Norte Credit Union, for sponsoring Summer Family Evenings in 2021.
Participants will get ideas about how to save water at home through activities about rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, vegetable gardening and water-wise plants. Pick up a free water conservation kit from the DPU, as well as milkweed seedlings to help feed monarch butterflies as they migrate.
Summer Family Evenings take place Wednesdays June though July. All events are made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Del Norte LOV Foundation. Learn more at peecnature.org/events.
