Explore Becoming ‘Alzheimer’s Friendly Community’ at Chamber Business Breakfast at UNM-LA Thursday

COMMUNITY News:

“How a community can support those with Alzheimers and related dementias and their caregivers” is the topic for this Thursday’s Business Breakfast, 7:30-9 a.m. at UNM-Los Alamos Lecture Hall 2.

Los Alamos residents have the longest average lifespan in New Mexico, and Los Alamos also has the highest percentage of people living with dementia, so what  better place to explore becoming an “Alzheimer’s Friendly” community?

The initiative was proposed by a group of people who work together on senior care issues. Representatives from Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Services, Home Instead, the Los Alamos Retirement Communities and the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization, which operates the Senior Centers, will bring their expertise to Thursday’s discussion.

Register here or drop in … it’s free to Chamber members, $10 for others and there will be coffee, decaf and breakfast burritos. All are welcome.
