Eta Zeta Scholarship Application Deadline April 1

PBSPEZ CHAPTER News:

It’s no joke! The Beta Sigma Phi Eta Zeta Chapter is accepting applications through April 1 for their Memorial Scholarship, which goes to a female Los Alamos graduating senior pursuing education beyond high school, including vocational and technical programs.

The basis for the award is a personal statement which includes information about community service, goals, aspirations and memorable personal experiences of helping others. Eta Zeta also considers need and other scholarships awarded.

The $250 award is issued jointly to the student and educational institution. More information are in the Los Alamos High School (LAHS) scholarship application packet provided to Los Alamos High School seniors by the Career and College Planning Center in February. They are still available at LAHS or on the school’s web site at http://laschools.net/lahs.

According to Eta Zeta Scholarship committee member Andrea Pistone, the candidate must exemplify the ideals of Beta Sigma Phi: Life, Learning, and Friendship, through evidence of good character, community involvement, and the desire to help others through a better understanding of them. Eta Zeta is one of five local chapters of the International women’s social, cultural, and service organization, Beta Sigma Phi.

For more information, contact the LAHS Career Center or call Andrea Pistone at 505.670.3753.
