Roger and Betty Smith announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Sonja Smith to Sam Elson. Parents of the groom are Jay and Jen Elson of Los Alamos and Dean and Jean Sanzo of Bellaire Beach, Fla. Their vows will be said at the United Church of Los Alamos mid-summer where Sonja is a third generation member. Both Sonja and Sam recently graduated with honors from New Mexico State University, where they will return in the fall so Sam can pursue his Masters in Mechanical Engineering and she can work in her field of Technical Writing. These former Los Alamos High School Marching Band members will honeymoon in the family’s more than 100-year-old high mountain cabin. Courtesy photo
