Elizabeth Grant

BUSINESS News:

Elizabeth Grant is opening her new psychotherapy practice Nov. 3 at 1505 15th St. in Los Alamos, adjacent to the Los Alamos Family Council.

Grant has a master’s degree in counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe with a specialty in grief and trauma. She spent her internship working with adults at Santa Fe Recovery Center and continued her work with substance abuse at Hoy Recovery.

She also has worked extensively with children and teenagers at TeamBuilders, YouthWorks and Presbyterian Medical Services in Santa Fe. Grant has facilitated groups for Girls in Santa Fe and Los Alamos and leads a “Parents Raising Teens” group in Los Alamos.

In addition to her work with teens, Elizabeth also has experience working with couples and adults who are dealing with substance abuse issues, suicidal ideation, unresolved trauma, life transition, grief, depression, anxiety and relationship problems that inhibit life happiness and fulfillment.

With every problem we confront, there lies within us a deep desire for something better and when people engage in a strong therapeutic relationship, they can reach those desires and see themselves and their life in deep and meaningful ways,” Grant said. “I love my work because human beings are capable of so much more than they know and it’s an honor to be a part of process where they can come into knowing their power and experience profound change.”
