‘El Piano De America’ Raul Di Blasio At The Lensic Nov. 17

Argentine pianist-composer Raul Di Blasio has been enchanting audiences worldwide for decades. At 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, he will once again be enchanting the audience of Santa Fe with an “Intimate Piano” concert at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.

Born in Zapala, Argentina in 1949, beginning his musical training at age 6; initially studying latin musical traditions like tango and bossa nova. As he grew, he was further influenced by the great classical European composers.

Dubbed “El Pianista de todos” (The People’s Pianist”), he moved to Miami in 1987, and three years later issued his BMG debut “El Piano de America. Its 1994 sequel sold over a million copies.

Argentinian composer and pianist Bebu Silvetti is from whom Di Blasio drew great inspiration. In fact, a lot of Di Blasio’s musical pieces were composed by Bebu Silvetti; one of which was called “Piano” which was considered as the first step into his musical career.

The Argentine jazz pianist, who achieved rapid fame in the 1990’s, has been a part of special duets throughout his masterful career. His collaborators include none other than French pianist Richard Clayderman, Michael Bolton and a long list of Mexican singers and composers comprised of Juan Gabriel, Alejandro Fernandez, Marco Antonio Solis, Jose Jose, Armando Manzanero, and Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan among others. In addition, Di Blasio has worked with Spaniards Rocio Durcal, Julio Iglesias and Jose Feliciano.
