PEEC Forum Wednesday: Learn How Los Alamos Can Become a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat

What do butterflies, birds, bears and bindweed have in common? They will all be discussed in a wildlife habitat forum to be held at PEEC at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11. Each local wildlife enthusiast on the panel will discuss his or her respective topic, and then together they will give community members a better idea of how we can give these species a better environment by making Los Alamos a certified Community Wildlife Habitat, an initiative that is already well-underway.

Faith will attend New Mexico State University to study biochemistry with a pre-med intent. Could there be earthquakes in Los Alamos? There have been earthquakes in the past, and could be more in the future.

PEEC's Summer Family Evenings presents "Earthquakes in our Backyard" 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. Learn about how, where, and when earthquakes occur around Los Alamos, through a combination of discussion, cool images, and hands-on activities. Drop in anytime throughout the program.

Ten Outstanding Students Awarded LAPS Foundation Scholarships

LAPSF News:

Ten outstanding students have been awarded the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation scholarship.  Each student demonstrated a balance of academic excellence, extracurricular participation and community service throughout their high school careers.  Winners chose an Educator of Distinction; this is an education professional that had a positive impact on the student’s time in the Los Alamos Public Schools.
