Thursday PEEC and the Reel Deal Theater will present a special screening of A Birder’s Guide to Everything, as part of PEEC’s Take Wing Week.
 
This is a touching film for all ages, about a 15-year-old birding fanatic who thinks that he’s made the discovery of a lifetime. So, on the eve of his father’s remarriage, he escapes on an epic road trip with his best friends to solidify their place in birding history.

The community is cordially invited to the White Rock Fall Festival; this is two great events in one location.

Stop by the pumpkin patch sponsored by Pinon Elementary’s PTO for all the usual pumpkin patch festivities. There will be face painting, a hay maze, carnival games, food vendors and more. Be sure to stop by the bake sale or try to win a baked good at the cakewalk. Then, head to the Chamisa Elementary Arts and Crafts fair inside the Pinon gymnasium. Los Alamos Middle School created a Wall of Awesomeness as one of its suicide prevention activities during Suicide Prevention Awareness Week.

Soumyo Lahiri-Gupta, 18, traveled home to Los Alamos from Albuquerque to cast his first vote in a General Election Thursday. The Hilltopper Football Team will go the extra mile Friday to raise funds for its annual Wounded Warriors Project.

Breaking News: Los Alamos Middle School Gas Leak Contained – Students Are Safe

BREAKING News:

A gas leak at Los Alamos Middle School today has been contained and all students and staff are safe.

Los Alamos County Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider just told the Los Alamos Daily Post that the students were sheltered in place after the leak was discovered and LAFD and Department of Public Utilities crews are at the scene.
