ALBUQUERQUE ― American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten will lead a kick-off rally marking the first day of in-person early voting in New Mexico 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at Wilson Middle School, 1138 Cardenas Dr. SE in Albuquerque.
President Weingarten will visit New Mexico specifically in support of public education and labor champions, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, Candidate for Congressional District 1 Deb Haaland, and Candidate for Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
New Mexico is at a turning point. This November, New Mexicans have the opportunity to elect candidates who reflect the Democratic Party values of public education, organized labor, and respect for workers. Exercising one’s civic duty to vote is critical in order to reset the trajectory of this state and the future for New Mexico’s citizens.
This event is coordinated through New Mexico’s AFL-CIO Labor Unions, The Democratic Party of New Mexico, and the Campaigns of Martin Heinrich, Debra Haaland and Michelle Lujan Grisham.
