Early Morning Power Outage Marks Black Friday

A power outage at around 4 a.m. today affected a widespread area of homes at least from Barranca Mesa to Myrtle Street near downtown Los Alamos. The cause of the outage is as yet unknown, but lasted a couple of hours according to residents. This photo was taken with a wide-angle lens at about 4:45 this morning of a dark Los Alamos during the outage. This is looking across Pueblo Canyon toward downtown Los Alamos. There were a few cars on Diamond Drive crossing Pueblo Canyon in this shot, and the lights at the Laboratory are visible on the right. The outage is an interesting start to ‘Black Friday’.
