The League of Women Voters’ monthly Lunch with a Leader that is open to the community will be Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 11:40 a.m. upstairs at Mesa Library.
This month’s speaker is Robert Westervelt, Deputy Utility Manager of Finance and Administration. If you live on Barranca Mesa or North Mesa and are participating in the Smart Meter Study, do you wonder what those rates on your emails mean? Are you in the punishment group or the reward group? What does that mean? These and other questions as well as other information will be shared with those attending. The two studies are supported by DPU’s partnerships with Kyoto University, Japan’s technology ministry NEDO, and Toshiba.
Westervelt, who earned both his BA and MBA from UNM, joined the DPU in Los Alamos in 2012 after 20 years of work in finance and accounting in state government and utilities. He is responsible for the financial planning for the electric, gas, water and wastewater services, and the Electric Coordination Agreement with the US Department of Energy. In addition, Westervelt oversees the 311 Customer Care Center.
Julie Williams-HIll of the DPU works with the Smart Meter Study as part of the customer service. She also will be presenting some of the issues that customers have been calling and asking her about. She is the “go to” person with questions for this study.
To order lunch from the Co+op’s menu to eat during the talk, contact Karyl Ann Armbruster at 505.662.6605 or email@example.com. Lunch is $10, but it isn’t necessary to order lunch to attend. Orders should be placed by noon Sunday, Dec. 15.
