DPU News:

Officials with Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities warn Los Alamos customers not to open any links or attachments in an email that’s part of a nationwide phishing scam.

Several customers notified DPU that they are in receipt of emails from either Atmos Energy or Pacific Gas & Electric. The email claims that customers owe a balance for electric and gas services and provides a link to view a statement. Clicking on the link may take customers to a website that could potentially download viruses or harbor malware. DPU officials suggest that customers delete the email immediately.

If customers have questions as to whether or not an email is from the DPU, contact the 311 Customer Care Center by phone at 311 from a landline or 505.662.8333 from a cell phone. The 311 Customer Care Center is also available by email at 311@lacnm.us.
