Joshua Madalena

NNMCAB News:

Joshua Madalena, the recent Governor of Jemez Pueblo, was appointed to the Northern New Mexico Citizens’ Advisory Board (NNMCAB) by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The appointment was made by Acting Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management Mark Whitney, March 11, 2015. Madalena stated that he is “looking forward to providing information and speaking on behalf of the region I represent. The communication we establish today will benefit us as a whole. We are dealing with nuclear energy that will potentially help or hurt us, especially, those still yet to be born. We need to look out in what is in our best interest.”

Madalena is a resident of Jemez Pueblo and will be representing the citizens of Jemez Pueblo during his time on the board.

The NNMCAB is one of eight DOE Environmental Management Site Specific Advisory Boards across the country. The NNMCAB provides DOE with advice and recommendations concerning: environmental remediation, waste management, and monitoring and surveillance of legacy waste at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The NNMCAB is currently recruiting new members for appointment in November 2015, for additional information contact Menice Santistevan, Executive Director at 505.995.0393 or e-mail menice.santistevan@em.doe.gov.
