DNCU News:
Del Norte Credit Union, northern New Mexico’s hometown financial co‐op, provided warm holiday meals to many of the area’s on‐duty firefighters Thursday. Delicious turkey meals with all
the trimmings, purchased through an area supermarket as well as a local restaurant, fed five Los Alamos County fire stations. seven Santa Fe City fire stations, as well as Española Fire Rescue.
“This is our way to help make the day a little brighter for these public servants who keep our communities safe, especially since many of them will miss their family meals,” DNCU President/CEO Chuck Valenti, said.
DNCU staff delivered the meals, even though the credit union was officially closed for business Thursday for the holiday.
“It really is a wonderful thing for Del Norte to do. It reassures our duty that the community appreciates their efforts,” Santa Fe Fire Marshal Rey Gonzales said.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Del Norte has provided holiday meals to on‐duty firefighters—just one way that DNCU improves the lives of others.
