DNCU Launches Annual Effort To Feed New Mexico Families

DNCU News:

Northern New Mexico financial mainstay, Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU) has announced the launch of their annual giving season with Forward Together—an innovative program to help curb hunger in some of New Mexico’s most rural areas.

DNCU is donating funds for every new checking account, auto loan, or home loan they open directly to The Food Depot—northern New Mexico’s food bank.

The campaign to raise funds began Monday and will run through the end of the year. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to help some of the most rural areas in northern New Mexico get the essential meals they need to survive during the pandemic.

According to The Food Depot’s website, The Food Depot “help[s] people of all ages with differing needs—those living in remote villages as well as in our largest cities and towns.”

Del Norte Credit Union’s Forward Together program will benefit the food bank as follows:

  • New Checking Accounts will generate $5 or 20 meals;
  • New Auto Loans funded will generate $10 or 40 meals; and
  • New Home Loans closed will generate $15 or 60 meals.

“This is another way we connect our mission of Improving Lives to the products and services we offer our membership—and now more than ever, we wanted to highlight that,” DNCU CEO/President Chuck Valenti said. “With the Forward Together program, our future and current members can see how the cooperative spirit of not-for-profit financial institutions works to better our communities and support the greater good of all that live here.”

Opening a new checking account, applying for auto loans and home loans is fast, safe and easy with the credit union’s recently updated website, www.dncu.com. Joining DNCU’s financial cooperative is open to most New Mexico residents and comes with many perks similar to those consumers see with big, national banks.
