DNCU Announces Scholarship Program Recipients

SANTA FE ― Del Norte Credit Union, Northern New Mexico’s hometown financial co-op, is pleased to announce the winners of the DNCU Scholarship program for 2015.

The seven winners each will receive $1,000 toward the higher education program in which they are enrolled in the fall of 2015.

“We are deeply committed to supporting young people in New Mexico as they make significant advances toward a brighter future,” DNCU President/CEO Chuck Valenti said. “While financial literacy is a core DNCU philosophy, education in all its dimensions is just as important. We wish the winners well.”

“I am honored to be selected for the DNCU scholarship,” said Lauren Armenta of Pojoaque Valley High School. Santa Fe Waldorg’s Keifer Nace also expressed her appreciation saying, “I am honored to be a part of the Del Norte Community.”

NCU’s Scholarship Award is a $1,000 award given to members in good standing who are in pursuit of higher education at any college, university, or vocational school. Winners are chosen based on their academic record, work experience, statement of goals, and demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.

  • Luke Villareal – Mesa Visa High School, Ojo Caliente
  • Lauren Armenta – Pojoaque Valley High School, Pojoaque
  • Bobbi Padilla – Rehoboth Christian School, Rehoboth
  • Elizabeth Sanchez – Santa Fe High School, Santa Fe
  • Keifer Nace – Santa Fe Waldorf School, Santa Fe
