SANTA FE ― Tuesday, First Judicial District Attorney Marco Serna announced the conviction of Christopher Owens for the brutal murder of Timothy Baca in Santa Fe during the Summer of 2017.
A Santa Fe jury has found Owens guilty of 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
“Combating violent crime in northern New Mexico remains our priority,” District Attorney Serna said. “This brazen, brutal crime shook the community and I will be asking the court to impose the maximum sentence.”
Owens faces a total of 19.5 years in prison, which includes two years for habitual offender status.
