Eight Los Alamos residents heard about a disabled veteran who served in the Vietnam War and decided to honor his service by building a pergola for him and his wife. The veteran spoke with the Los Alamos Daily Post and said he teared up when he saw what the local residents had done for him. He and his family wanted to show their appreciation and highlight ‘what a caring community we have here in Los Alamos County’. He asked that his name not be mentioned as he wants to publicly thank and have the focus be on those who gave him such a heartfelt gift.
