LACA News:

An opportunity to dine with one of the world’s great guitarists, Jason Vieaux, is just around the corner. The Los Alamos Concert Association (LACA) has announced that there are a few tickets remaining to its annual “Dinner with the Artists” at which Vieaux and his duo partner, harpist Yolanda Kondonassis, will be the honored guests.

The dinner, at the Blue Window Bistro, will follow their performance scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16 in the Duane Smith Auditorium in Los Alamos.

“This is a great way to get acquainted with Jason and Yolanda and to have a fine post-concert meal with friends,” LACA Artistic Director Ann McLaughlin said.

Tickets to the LACA fundraiser are $55 per person, $20 of which is a tax deductible contribution to LACA.  A mail-in order form is available on the LACA website at www.losalamosconcert.org. LACA also will accept written requests for dinner tickets sent to P.O. Box 572, Los Alamos, NM 98544  by March 1. Concert tickets will be available at CB FOX as well as Smith’s Food and Drug Stores in Los Alamos and White Rock.

Grammy nominee Kondonassis made her debut with the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta at age 18. Since then, she has performed around the globe as a concert soloist and in recital. More than 20 recordings make her arguably the world’s most recorded harpist.

Vieaux has performed as soloist with more than 50 orchestras and has been a perennial favorite on public radio’s “Performance Today.” Much in demand as a chamber music collaborator, he is also on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music and founded the guitar department at the Curtis Institute.

Concert attendees also may join Kondonassis and Vieaux for an informal conversation at 3 p.m. at Duane Smith Auditorium prior to their 4 p.m. performance.
