Nancy Coombs

The community is invited to join the Art Center staff in bidding a fond farewell and best wishes to longtime staff member Nancy Coombs 2-4 p.m. Thursday at Fuller Lodge Art Center.

Since 2008, Coombs has been a part of the team at the Art Center focusing her efforts on marketing shows, classes, fairs and exhibits. She has taken photos at the openings, greeting fair goers and artists selling their wares and occasionally sitting at the front desk selling Art Center wares.

What the community hasen’t seen is all the work that goes on behind the scenes. And there is a lot of it. Those shows, classes, fairs and exhibits require brochures, newsletters, email reminders, press releases to local and regional outlets not to mention endless phone calls to make it all happen, not to mention updating the Art Center’s website. She also has maintained the Facebook page and the Art Center’s database. Coombs’ cheerful attitude belies the long hours of work that go into all these tasks.

Thursday’s special event features a cake reception to say thank you and good luck to Coombs as she moves on to a new position in marketing at UNM-Los Alamos.
