Democratic Party Of New Mexico To Hold Pre-Primary Convention, Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy To Give Keynote Address

ALBUQUERQUE The Democratic Party of New Mexico Pre-Primary Convention will convene to formally nominate its candidates for Congress, Secretary of State, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court in front of 1,400 delegates from across the state at 10 a.m., Saturday March 12, at Isleta Resort and Casino Showroom (11000 Broadway SE in Albuquerque.
 
Gov. Dan Malloy of Connecticut will deliver the keynote address.
 
“We are thrilled that Governor Malloy will address our delegates. Governor Malloy’s proven leadership moving Connecticut forward reminds us how important it is to elect strong Democrats in New Mexico focused on fixing the broken Martinez economy and restoring public trust in our government,” said Debra Haaland, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico.
 
Governor Malloy was the first governor in the nation to sign paid sick leave legislation into law, he led the charge to become the first state to raise the minimum wage to $10.10, is a leading voice on expanding voting rights, and has taken real steps to fight for equal pay. Gov. Malloy is the Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association.
