DNCU News:

Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), Northern New Mexico’s hometown financial cooperative is proud to announce that its Los Alamos branch manager, Matthew Waldschmidt, graduated May 4 from Leadership Los Alamos.

Waldschmidt has been with Del Norte Credit Union for 13 and a half years. A Los Alamos native, he is committed to his community and believes the Leadership Los Alamos program is a great way to learn about Los Alamos while also receiving leadership training.

“We are thrilled that Matthew is dedicated and willing to put in the time to perfect his skills as a leader here at Del Norte Credit Union,” President/CEO Chuck Valenti said. “He is a shining example for his peers and community— we are excited to see him succeed in future endeavors.”

“I had the opportunity to learn about many of the nonprofits in Los Alamos who are responsible for our vast support network and activities around town,” Waldschmidt said. “I can now be more selective in matching my passions with improving the lives of locals in Los Alamos through community service. I would encourage anyone interested in taking a leadership role in the community to apply for Leadership Los Alamos. I would also like to thank Del Norte Credit Union for sponsoring me in the program and for helping me further my knowledge.”

According to its website, Leadership Los Alamos was founded to identify current and emerging leaders in the Los Alamos community, enhance their leadership skills, and deepen their knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing our area. Leadership Los Alamos is a nonprofit, 501(c) (3), tax exempt organization.
