BANDELIER News:
Earlier this year, Bandelier National Monument announced an opportunity for artists to participate in this year’s Artist in Residence Program at the park.
The deadline to apply is June 1, which is approaching rapidly. Artists may be in the fields of writing, composing, performing (storytellers, dancers, etc.), visual (photographing, sculpting, painting, etc) or multi-disciplinary. There is no application fee and no stipend.
The successful applicants can spend up to a month living in park housing and pursuing their artistic discipline in Bandelier’s inspiring and stimulating environment. They will be required to give programs for the public during the residency period, and donate an original piece of their work to the park.
For 2015, the residency would occur between mid-September and mid-December. Details of the application process and other arrangements are available on the Bandelier website, www. nps.gov/band, or a brochure is can be picked up in person at the park Visitor Center or requested by phone at 505.672.3861 x 517. Applications must be received or postmarked no later than June 1, 2015.
