Day & Zimmermann SOC Los Alamos Announces Scholarship Recipients for 2014

SOC LOS ALAMOS NEWS:

Española—Ten high school seniors from northern New Mexico were honored as 2014 Day & Zimmermann SOC Los Alamos Scholarship Recipients in ceremonies across the extended Rio Arriba County region. 

For the 17th consecutive year, SOC Los Alamos has helped students from this rural region aim high by providing educational opportunities for the young men and women earning top scores in the program’s competitive process.

This year the D&Z SOC Los Alamos High School Scholarship Program awarded 10 $1,000 scholarships to seniors attending Coronado, McCurdy Charter, Mesa Vista, Española, Pojoaque Valley, Peñasco and Escalante high schools.

Since 1998, SOC Los Alamos has given $170,000 to local graduating high school seniors. Each recipient was selected because of their academic excellence, their demonstrated leadership skills, their commitment to community service and their expressed desire to return to the area and positively impact the communities who have supported them.
