Partnering with DaVita Kidney Care, Los Alamos Medical Center has broken ground on a six-chair dialysis center. DaVita Kidney Care is a leading provider of dialysis services in the United States, treating patients with chronic kidney failure and end stage renal disease.

DaVita Kidney Care strives to improve patients’ quality of life by innovating clinical care, and by offering integrated treatment plans, personalized care teams and convenient health-management services.

“We have been working toward a dialysis center here for a long time,” LAMC CEO Feliciano Jiron said. “To finally break ground and see the clinic start taking shape is very rewarding. We will be thrilled when we can finally offer this much needed service to the community.”

Los Alamos board-certified nephrologist David Mills, MD, will be the medical director of the DaVita Dialysis Center. He also will maintain his private practice at Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico.

The renovation and expansion should be completed in March 2016.
