General Manager David Jolly of Metzger’s Do It Best Hardware, was recently presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship certificate and gold pin by Rotary Foundation Chair Brian Newnam of the Rotary Club of Los Alamos and Club Vice President Linda Hull.
The fellowship, named after Paul Harris, who founded Rotary in 1905 with three business associates in Chicago, was established in 1957 to express appreciation for a contribution of $1,000 to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary Foundation.
Jolly earned his Paul Harris Fellowship while a charter member of the Alexander City Rotary Club in Alabama, serving terms as treasurer and president.
Jolly’s donation to The Rotary Foundation will help allay suffering worldwide among vulnerable populations through support of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives; the eradication of polio; expansion of educational and business opportunities; projects to protect the environment; and outreach for peace-building.
