DALA Opens Auditions For Nutcracker On ‘The Hill’

Dance Arts Los Alamos, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and dance education studio in Los Alamos opens auditions for Nutcracker on “The Hill”.
 
Conception of the production began in January 2015 in association with The Los Alamos Historical Society. Artistic Director Jonathan Guise brings new life to the classic tale of The Nutcracker by entwining it with the true historical characters involved in the historic Manhattan Project.
 
Auditions are Saturday, Aug. 27 at White Rock Dance Studio 111 Longview Dr. 
  • 11 a.m. Ballet 6 (Ages 5-7)
  • 11:45 a.m. Ballet 5 (Ages 8-10)
  • 12:45 p.m. Ballet 4 (Ages 10-12)
  • 1:30 p.m. Ballet 3 (Ages 12-15)
  • 2:15 p.m. Ballet 2 (Ages 15-18)
Dancers must be five years old before Sept. 1, 2016
 
Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Previous dance experience is required for ages 8-18. For more information, contact Jonathan Guise at jonathan@danceartslosalamos.org.
 
Those cast in the production will be required to pay a $150 performance fee. Dancers under the age of 18 are required to register and attend one dance class per week at Dance Arts Los Alamos.
 
Performances are 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 2 p.m. Dec. 3-4 at Duane Smith Auditorium, 1300 Diamond Dr., during Los Alamos Winterfest Weekend.
