Daily Postcard: About a mile upstream from the Visitor Center at Bandelier National Monument, and 140 feet above the canyon floor, is a natural-eroded alcove about 65 feet wide called Alcove House. Visitors can reach it by climbing four long wooden ladders and a series of narrow stone stairs. Alcove House was a place of habitation for Ancestral Pueblo people.
