C’YA Notifies 2021 Community Asset Award Nominees

Champions of Youth Ambitions News:

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA), spent the day notifying nominees (34 in all), of the 2021 Community Asset Awards.

The actual recognition event is still being planned with a safe way to hold a similar event, in a pandemic.

“The Board of Directors wanted to try and do things differently this year,” C’YA Executive Director said Bernadette Lauritzen said. “We may have found a way to get the goal accomplished – a little better than for the 2020 nominees.”

Nominees were notified by phone, email, via  Facebook and a few won’t learn until they check their voicemail or email next week, or see Lauritzen in person. The small non-profit will have additional information via local media and social media in the week ahead, once notifications are complete.

One winner will take home the Spirit of the West Award, named for former County Councilor Jim West, and handmade by artist and welder Richard Ronquillo of Rich Welding, LLC.
