Cultural Celebrations, Classic Car Shows And More Highlight Final Weekend Of New Mexico State Fair

ALBUQUERQUE — There’s still plenty of time to come out to the New Mexico State Fair where New Mexicans will find plenty to celebrate during the Fair’s closing weekend.

Here’s a look at what’s to come:

  • Car Shows: There are still two more car shows coming up at the State Fair. On Saturday, head to Main Street to check out the Hot Rods, Custom Cars and Classic Mustangs before Sunday’s Classic Car, Truck and Corvair show. 
  • Hispanic Heritage Celebration: On Sunday, Sept. 15, the New Mexico State Fair and Hispanic Heritage Committee are kicking off Hispanic Heritage Celebrations. Head over to Villa Hispana and get things started with Mariachi Herencia de Atrisco Heritage Academy at 10 a.m. Entertainment will last all day and feature Folklorico dancers, El Grito and Grammy Award Winners Los TexManiacs.
  • New Mexico State Fair Powwow: Indian Village will host the annual State Fair Powwow on Saturday, Sept. 14. Gand Entry begins at 1 p.m. and Indian Village will be filled with beautiful pageantry, and traditional drums and dances. 
  • PRCA Rodeo and Cole Swindell, Josh Turner: On Saturday Sept. 14, the PRCA Rodeo gets things going inside Tingley Coliseum at 6:45 p.m. followed by Josh Turner. The PRCA Rodeo wraps up with a matinee performance at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.
