CSD To Host Community Engagement Meeting On Urban Park Athletic Courts Project Aug. 6 At Fuller Lodge

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD), in partnership with Santec, has completed the initial listening session. The next community engagement meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave.

During the initial meeting on March 5, 2026, community members shared feedback on what is working well at Urban Park, the improvements they would like to see, and ideas for future enhancements. Overall, the feedback showed strong support for maintaining the park’s existing character while making targeted improvements to the athletic courts, amenities, and accessibility.

At Thursday’s community engagement meeting, CSD and Stantec will share concepts developed from community input on the park layout, accessibility, and court configurations. The concepts will be presented for further discussion and refinement.

The purpose of this project is to renovate and improve the athletic courts to meet ADA accessibility standards and enhance overall safety, usability, and community value. The scope includes design and construction of accessible features, updated amenities, and site improvements aligned with the 2023 CSD Integrated Master Plan and the ADA Transition Plan.

This meeting will be recorded and posted on the CSD project page. Zoom Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86457407880
