Los Alamos may be in the midst of a business upsurge … it seems that a new venture is popping up nearly every week, and now Los Alamos has a brand new custom embroidery business to add to the mix.
Mike Luna, longtime resident and former owner of Home Run Pizza of Los Alamos, has opened doors to Cruiser’s Custom Embroidery.
Cruiser’s specializes in commercial embroidery, including caps, shirt, and jackets on a grand scale and is fully capable of handling very large orders. 
“I have worked with Los Alamos County a number of times to embroider hundreds of pairs of trousers, as well as sports teams and churches, and would like to add other local businesses as well as the Los Alamos National Laboratory to my growing list of customers,” Luna said. “In fact, Dave Fox, of CB Fox, recently made a donation of 100 caps to Pajarito Environmental Education Center, which were embroidered by Cruiser’s at a greatly reduced cost.”
Nonprofits and fund raising efforts are given special consideration as Luna recognizes the need for increased visibility for organizations with limited funds.
Cruiser’s Custom Embroidery specializes in corporate and business logos and is able to outsource logo design and digitization to fit a customer’s needs.
Of course, small orders are also welcome and encouraged, he said.
“I found that there was a need for someone to embroider childrens’ names on Christmas stockings, and I never charge for that,” Luna said.
Luna saw a necessity for custom embroidery as both a business owner and former president of Atomic City Corvettes car club.
“I found there was no local source for shirts and caps for employees and club members,” he said. “Perhaps Cruiser’s Custom Embroidery can fill that niche and give local businesses and organizations the opportunity to obtain apparel embroidered with their company logos at a reasonable cost.”
Cruiser’s Custom Embroidery is a member of the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and is located at 274 Garver Lane in White Rock. Luna can be reached at 672-4087.
