The annual Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk and Turkey Trot is today and registration begins at 1 p.m. in the Los Alamos Middle School Cafeteria.

The entry fee is a donation (check or cash) or a non-perishable food item for local food bank L.A. Cares and 25 percent of funds raised go to LA Cares. Participants can get an event logo t-shirt or tote bag until they run out.

The CROP Hunger Walk and Turkey Trot is a fun walk or run, beginning at 2 p.m. Many of the participants have been collecting sponsor donations which will go to CROP/CWS for their hunger and relief efforts around the world and here in the U.S. At least ten percent of all donations will go directly to L.A. Cares, as well.

The course is 2.57 miles or a shorter 1.5 mile route. Following their finish, race participants gather in the cafeteria (at about 3 p.m.) for a random drawing for turkeys and pumpkin pies. Winners of the drawing must be a walk/trot entrant and be present to win. Refreshments will be served.
