Staff Report

Melissa Bartlett was hiking Tuesday near the mouth of Bayo Canyon where it comes out near the Sewage Treatment Plant.

She came upon a den of coyotes including three adults and two cubs. The adults are aggressive to dogs and quite bold with humans. They are being protective of the den, which is close to the dirt road.

“I suggest avoiding hiking, biking and dog walking there until the coyote family has moved out of the area,” Bartlett said.
