Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office Opens To Public With COVID Safe Practices (CSP) And Limited Hours

COUNTY News:

In continuing to align with directives from the Governor’s Office and Los Alamos County, County Clerk Naomi Maestas is taking the next step to exit the pandemic emergency.

Beginning today, the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office opened for in-person transactions 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with CSP in place – including the mandatory use of face masks, plexiglass at public facing counters, limits on the number of people in the lobby area, regular cleaning of public spaces and surfaces, and social distancing of six feet or more.

County Resumes Issuing Diamond Overpass Banner Permits

The Los Alamos County Customer Care Center representatives resumed processing Diamond Drive overpass banner permits last week via phone or email. 

Permits are issued free of charge for temporary banners announcing community events, festivals or activities of civic interest to nonprofit groups or organizations advertising events or activities open to the general public in accordance with Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances Section 16-409(3) Civic banners.

The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office completed the required canvass process to certify and finalize the results of the 2020 Primary Election, which took place Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

The Canvass Board (Board) met at 1 p.m. Thursday at the LAC Municipal Building. The Board consisted of Mr. Cameron Counters, Mr. James P. Cline, Ms. Danielle Gardner, and Ms. Joann Johnson.
