Los Alamos County remains at 6 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 6 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

  • 12 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 2 new cases in Chaves County

Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit announces plans for the phased re-opening of fixed-route public transportation in Los Alamos County beginning Monday, June 15. 

Phase-one of reopening fixed-route bus service will include Routes 1, 2M, and 2T operating on reduced hours of daily service, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

County Boards And Commissions Begin Meetings June 10

COUNTY News:

Two of Los Alamos County’s Boards and Commissions will begin using video-conferencing software to hold online meetings this week. Other Boards & Commissions meetings may resume later in June.

Meetings had been suspended since mid-March because of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. Both Planning & Zoning Commission and the Parks & Recreation Board are meeting this week on June 10 and 11, respectively, using the video-conferencing platform Zoom Webinar.

After many years sitting dormant, the former Hilltop House Hotel and Smith’s building, along with the rest of Mari Mac Village Shopping Center are under contract in downtown Los Alamos.

Larry Hawker, a principal with New Mexico Innovation Triangle, the company looking at redeveloping the properties, spoke Friday with the Los Alamos Daily Post. He explained that the projects are in the very preliminary stages.
