County: Utility Work On Quartz Street Begins Monday

COUNTY News:

Parker Construction, under contract with Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, will reroute and replace a failed section of sewer.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 24, new public sewer main pipelines between Pine Street and the existing main on the north side of Quartz Street will be installed.

Work will continue for 30 days with crews working 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. At times, traffic will be restricted to one lane at the very short construction zone in Quartz Street.

DPU’s contractor will maintain access to residents’ homes at all times. No sewer service interruption is anticipated. For safety reasons, the Pine Street Playlot may be partially closed while repairs are underway.

Drivers are urged to observe the speed limit and traffic control signs.

Direct questions or concerns to the DPU through the Customer Care Center, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 505.662.8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us
