County Requests Los Alamos Residents 75 & Up (Phase 1b1) Contact Social Services For COVID Vaccine Appointment

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Emergency Manager Beverley Simpson is requesting Los Alamos individuals who are 75 years of age and older to contact the County’s Social Services office if they have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Simpson is working with the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) to identify those in this category (Phase 1b1) who still need a vaccine appointment.

The Social Services staff is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 505.662.8068. Simpson indicates that staff will request the individual’s name, date of birth and his/her NMDOH confirmation number so that an appointment can be scheduled.

The NMDOH confirmation number is necessary to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To receive this number, Simpson says individuals need to first register on the NMDOH website https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/. Those who do not have computer access can request registration assistance from the County Social Services staff or call the NMDOH hotline at 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support.

For more information on registering and the process to receive a vaccine, individuals can visit the NMDOH website: https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/faqs.html. County information on COVID-19 is available on the Los Alamos County website at: https://lacnm.com/COVID.
