County Releases Third Flood Damage Estimates to FEMA, State

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County has released its third issuance to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of New Mexico of estimated costs from flood damage as a result of the recent barrage of storms in the area. 

Rendija Canyon Road – San Ildefonso Access:

The road to the Guaje Canyon well field has washed out in several locations, and access to Guaje Canyon from the east end of Rendija Canyon Road (San Ildefonso) allows for a more economical means of mobilizing equipment to the well field.

The east end of the Rendija Canyon road has been damaged in several locations including two areas of particular concern requiring the installation of culverts.

Estimated cost to repair:

  • Road Repair/Reconstruction/Armoring – $27,000; and
  • Culvert Installation – $23,000
  • Estimated Total – $50,000
